Everglades beaches

Naples, on the coast of southern paradise in Florida, is a popular destination for winter snowbirds and vacationers. There are many reasons why – this elegant and high -end community offers super restaurants and purchases in a sophisticated city center, as well as beautiful beaches and best rated golf courses.

Whether you like to go out on the water or the links, there are things to do in Naples in Florida for all, including the arts, culture and annual events like the Buggy races of the famous marshes, the Naples Craft Beer Fest, the Stone Crab Festival and the Parade of Christmas boats from Naples Bay.

Although it is loaded all year round, Naples really clashes from December to April. We visited in summer and winter, and gathered some of the best things to do in Naples in Florida.

Things to do in Naples, Florida

Stone of Naples

The central train location and the best place to take a sunset is at the famous Quai de Naples. Parking can be tight, so if you want to park at the pay of pay near the pier, you should get there early during the day. Otherwise, you can probably find street parking on the 5th street and walk.

You do not need to pay to access the pier, and fishing out of the pier is authorized without a license. There are even sinks and stations to clean your catches. Even if you don’t fish, it’s fun to walk to the end to watch the Pélicans dive for their meal. You can even luck and see dolphins. Just play your place early if you are going for sunset.

Lowdermilk Park

Although there is a beach at the pier of Naples, it is narrow and a little crowded. If you do not stay in a seaside resort by the sea, another excellent option is Lowdermilk Park. While you have to pay in the place to park, access to the beach is free. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach.

The beach is charming and the park offers a concession stand, showers, toilets, picnic tables, two children’s playgrounds and even beach volleyball.

Pure boat cruise in Florida

If you want to go fishing, take a dolphin cruise, roll on a boat throw, rent jet ski or even take a bombing eco-turn, Florida Pure is the place to look at. The boats leave aside the historic shopping district of Tin City so that you can have a lunch of stone crab claws before leaving or drinking on your return.

Kayak

If you want to go out on the water but also get closer to wildlife and nature, think of a kayak visit with Rising tide explorers. It is the only adventure company belonging and operated by southwest Florida.

They offer kayak rentals, kayak visits and a boat visit with biologists. These visits go to winding mangroves tunnels, an island of birdeals, old sand dunes, and you can even bomb a remote section of Keewaydin Island.

Purchases

If you like to shop, you’re lucky to Naples. There are many pockets of places with large purchases, centers planned to certain parts of the city center of Naples. Everyone has their own unique personality.

Tin City is a historic district that reminds us of a lot of Fisherman quay in San Francisco or Seattle, but on a smaller scale. You will find restaurants, specialized stores and a mixture of kitsch souvenir stores.

For high -end purchases, the village of Venetian bay offers a mixture of familiar shops and names, combined with a number of restoration options by the interior and outdoor water.

The main commercial districts of the city center are along the 5th avenue South and 3rd Street South. These streets are also lined with a mixture of large restaurants, many of which offer interior and outdoor seats. On 3rd Street South, you will find Tommy Bahama and high -end shops selling your filling of Lily Pulitzer. Fifth Avenue South also offers shops, art galleries and restaurants.

Naples Zoo

A pleasure for children is the Naples Zoo at the Caribbean gardens. This accredited zoo houses animals like lions, giraffes, monkeys, pythons and bears. You can also reserve a meeting of animals with lemurs, honey badgers, anti -egencies and giraffes.

Naples botanical garden

THE Naples botanical garden Covers 170 acres and houses plants from around the world. The gardens also offer fun annual events such as Night Lights (Christmastime), April Fool ‘in the Garden and Garden Nights.

When we were there in December, our plan was to attend the night lights and we bought tickets in advance (as recommended because it sold), but unfortunately, it was raining. Although the event is rain or sun, we decided that we would prefer not to be soaked!

Corkscrew

Remember a few years ago when there was that YouTube video Circulating from a panther passing a person on a walk in Florida? Well, it was at the sanctuary of the corkscrew marshes. Don’t worry, this is not a common event.

Located about 30 minutes east of Naples, Corkscrew Shelters alligators, otters, deer, turtles and obviously panthers! You can enter the Everglades ecosystem on the 2.5 mile walk through flat woods, wet meadows and in the largest old -fashioned cypress forest in North America.

Plane visits

If you are ready to travel a little further south in the Everglades, there are many opportunities for aerodrome visits to Everglades City and beyond. We decided to try a 30 -minute tour with Wooten Everglades Plane visits.

These visits go through mangroves and meadows, with a high probability of identifying alligators. They also offer a 30 -minute marsh Buggy visit that brings you through the Everglades Herb River.

Marco Island

Only 30 to 45 minutes south of Naples is the paradise for the holidays of Marco Island. You will find everything, from high height hotels to beach houses. There are similar things to do on the island of Marco, but I am a little partial at the wide white sandy beach on the island of Marco.

Sanibel & Captiva

Only 30 to 45 minutes to the south, outside Fort Myers, the wildlife refuge on Captiva and the incredible bombardments on Sanibel are a large draw for nature lovers.

Miami

Perhaps you want to go from the quietest west coast and the cultural hot spot on the east coast of southern Florida-Miami and Miami Beach. There are so many things to do in Miami gastronomic visits and art walks to people who look at South Beach and visit world -class museums. Miami is only two hours away through Alligator Alley.

Key West

There is even a seasonal ferry from Marco Island to Key West, which makes this hot point accessible from the west coast of Florida without the Road Trip of Florida Keys, moreover, Florida.

Naples Grande Beach Resort

If you are looking for a high -end stay, we enjoyed our stay at Naples Grande Beach Resort. Keep in mind that if you prefer the beach to the swimming pool, you will have to walk a long walk to get to the beach or take a golf cart shuttle. Don’t worry, however, it’s worth it because the beach is beautiful.

Inn residence by Marriott

During our recent stay, we needed something a little more moderate, so we chose to stay outside the beach in the central center Inn residence by Marriott. We were able to use points for a spacious suite of two bedrooms and our stay included a buffet breakfast and the hotel had a decent swimming pool for a residence.

Where to eat in Naples
