Slide in the Margaritaville Orlando water park

Orlando is hunting for fun theme and water parks, but the one that passes under the radar is Margaritaville, Island H20 water park. Located next to Margaritaville Resort Orlando and a few minutes from Disney in Kissimmee, Florida, Island H20 has unique characteristics that distinguish him from other Orlando water parks.

The Island H2O water park is to integrate technology to inflate pleasure, making it an excellent option for families with pre -adolescents and adolescents. But don’t worry, there is a lot of fun for all ages.

When I visited Orlando with my teenage daughter and her friend, we were on a mission to explore some of Orlando’s activities beyond themed parks. We stayed at Margaritaville Orlando Resort (see my full exam here) and since we visited in June, we wanted to visit an water park and Island H2O could not have been more practical.

Island H2O is at a distance from the hotel (about 5 minutes on foot) or they will close you at the entrance. Island H2O is part of the entire Margaritaville Resort, which includes the Margaritaville Hotel and the Sunset Walk Entertainment District. However, you don’t need to be a guest of the hotel to visit the water park.

As I mentioned, the thing that distinguishes H2O Island from other Orlando aquatic parks is the innovative use of technology. When you arrive, you have an intelligent group to wear throughout the day. You link this smart group to the Island H2O mobile application (it helps download this before your arrival.)

If you know the tapu tapu bands of Volcano Bay, you may think that these are used for a virtual queue, but this is not the case in Island H20. Instead, they are used to follow the location, customize your experience and connect to your account to capture photos and videos.

Make my personalization of the day

First of all, you can define your musical preferences. Some of the slides have music and before getting on board, you scan your group, then your musical selection will play during your ride. Pretty cool, right? You can select from a wide range of genres. I guess it is not surprising that I chose the 80s.

Family and friends

Then you can link your group to your family and friends. It is an incredible feature for parents! Once the groups of your children are linked to your application, you can see in which section of the water park in which they are at any time using the Find Friends function on the application.

It makes you so easier to find your children! After all adolescents and pre -adolescents do not need to be monitored every second, especially if they are with a boyfriend / brother, but try to find them in lines and crowds may be almost impossible in a water park.

This feature made my day much more relaxing than I could spend time in the shade near the waves swimming pool, but check with them from time to time.

You can also take photos in the park in various selfie hut stations and, if you buy a photo allowance for your group, they are then added to your application and available for download.

In addition, if you scan your group on versions rates with an icon of the camera, it should also capture images of you on the slide and add them to your account.

Another really cool feature in Island H2O are the advantages of the park. Basically, you earn points by doing various activities and trips. The more points you earn, the more prizes you can win. Free snacks on UP. You can use the application to see the value of the points for various rides, see the buyout values ​​and check your balance. It is a cool way for the park to encourage people to set up different slides and manage control of the crowds of the park.

Island H2O wrinkles and attractions

The park is divided into seven or eight main sections. One of the other technological features that I appreciated in the park was the large screens installed in each section, showing approximate waiting times for each trip. This allows you to make good choices on how you want to spend your day.

First of all, you have the wave swimming pool, with a lot of seats in the shade. In the afternoon, a live DJ shakes the pieces of the Wave pool, “Live! Lagoon ”. Small children need to wear provided that life vests and heights are checked by rescuers when they enter the pool. If the frequent alarm signal at the start of the wave action will disturb your cooling, you may want to find seats elsewhere.

A good bet would be the pool of adults only, the “private domain”. It is reserved for those aged 21 and over.

Between the wave swimming pool and the adult swimming pool, you will find the response runners. These are carpet slides where you go head to head to see who can go below first. It has a boomerang with a steep fall that makes you feel weightless for a second before retreating.

The smallest visitors (minimum height requirement of 36 ″) will benefit from Candy Stripe Cove. This small area offers small slides and rides and zones for splashes.

In the middle of the park, you will find the playground for young tykes. Surrounded by the Lazy Chat Creek river, the Pelican paradise offers slides, splash areas, climbing areas and, of course, splash buckets. What you need to know

• Lockers – The lockers are available for rental and there are different sizes available at different prices.
• Food – You will need to go through a safety control and no external power supply is allowed, but you can bring a bottle of water not open that you can fill throughout the day. There are two main snack bar. The mega -cells have a wide range of food, while applications and dishes near the wave pool have a slightly smaller selection (like pizza and egg rolls). Adult drinks are also available at Tag Shack near the adult swimming pool.
• Drinking stations – There are Freestyle Cocacola machines near each snack bar. Although the ice does not work the day we went, you can fill your bottles or cups with water and ice for free. There are also cups of rechargeable memories that you can buy and use throughout the day.
• Towel – You can buy souvenirs from Island Outfitters, but the towels are not provided, so be sure to bring yours.
• Shoe cubbies – are provided in front of each of the main slip zones. Water shoes are not allowed on slides.
• Huts – There are also a good number of huts available for rental. A standard hut adapts to six people and includes food and drinking services, a refrigerator, four bottles of water, a table for four, two loungers, a private locker and a charging station. You can also book an adult hut in a private domain or a sequence of Cabana, which corresponds to 16 people.

I expected that we were going to pass half a day at Island H2O Live!, But we ended up being there for almost eight hours. The girls both loved and the lines have never been too long. He has not entirely beaten Volcano Bay for the best water park in the center of Florida, but if you are staying in Kissimmee, this is an excellent option.
