If you are looking for a romantic evening restaurant in the Rhode Island, there is no shortage of options, from extravagant follies to fun experiences. After all, Providence has received many distinctions to be a large food city; including being named one of the best new food cities by Jetteterbetter gastronomic destination by 10Be Readers’ Choice Travel Traveland one of the best small towns in the world to eat Rescuer Culinary Travel Awards magazine. But Providence has no exclusivity on good food in the Rhode Island.
After having lived in the Rhode Island for more than 20 years and planned for many nights of appointments, birthday celebrations and birthday dinners, here are my choices for the best meeting evening restaurants in the Rhode Island. I do not pretend to have tried all the restaurants of Rhode Island and obviously, food preferences are a bit objective, but here are my favorite night restaurants in Rhode Island according to food, service and atmosphere. All these elements would make perfect night restaurants for a special occasion or a fun evening (or a lunch)!
The lawn in Castle Hill, Newport
If you are looking for a perfect place for a special lunch or if you want to catch a beautiful sunset, book a table at La lawn in Castle Hill in Newport. After having dined on the patio or drinks at the bar, you can sit in some Adirondack chairs on the vast lawn and watch the boats pass in front of the Newport Pell bridge.

Matunck Oyster Bar, Wakefield
My favorite oysters in the world are Matuck’s little oysters. Raised right next to their quays, these small specialties just have the right mixture of flavor, brine and sweetness. The raw oysters are incredible, but you should also try toasted oysters and Rockefeller oysters. The bar is a place after the popular beach, with a line at the door, especially if you want to enjoy the specials of the Happy Hour. However, if you want to plan a special dinner in the restaurant, be sure to make weeks of booking in advance.

La Masseria, East Greenwich
The owners of this Ristorant East Greenwich have roots in Capri, Italy, and you can see it from the authentic cuisine of the Puglia region. I have never had a dish that I did not like Masseria, but my very favorites include crispy fried zucchini, fettuccini with eggplant and smoked mozzarella, special house pasta with eggs and truffles (incredible OMG), and creamy ricotta cheese. For something more special, go to winter when the white truffle menu is in season.

Bacaro, Providence
Located just on the edge of the river on South Water Street, Bacaro is my favorite Italian restaurant in Providence and it is also an ideal place to eat an evening of water fire. The crispy grilled pizza with a slim Margherita crust is incredibly delicious and I can never stop eating it until it is gone. Although it is easy to fill all the small tasty plates and healthy, I always save the place for the incredible con i Funghi pasta, which is tagliatelle with butter, parmesan-reggiano, eggs with white truffles and duxelles with mushrooms. Bacaro is excellent with a group because you can share some of the Salumeria Italian plates.

Bellini, Providence
Bellini brings the timeless Italian of the Cipriani family to Providence and the decor is as sparkling as a homonymous cocktail of Bellini. Located at the Beatrice hotel, the elegant dining room is perfect for a special evening. The menu is not large, but each dish is carefully prepared. Grilled langoustines and pasta with black truffle deserve a visit.

Al Forno, Providence
Al Forno is the restaurant that first put providence on the food card. This is also where Bacaro chief learned to make an incredible wooden grilled pizza. Our favorites are the clams of Al Forno, pasta with clams roasted in a very spicy sauce, and the Cavatelli with roasted musk squash are some of our favorites.

Mill’s Tavern, Providence
This classic Providence is my unmissable restaurant for meeting evenings or special occasions. The interior of brick and wood gives it a sophisticated and romantic atmosphere. He went through a difficult period a few years ago, but he seems to have regained his reputation for gastronomy. Oysters, Littlenecks, foie gras and steaks are delicious, but I make sure to keep space for their bread pudding.

Gracie’s, Providence
If you are looking for a gastronomic experience, make a reservation for the tasting menu of a chef at Gracie’s with wine chords selected by sommelier. The private dining room is also an ideal place for a special event. The dishes are creative and beautifully prepared and unlike other culinary experiences in Providence.

Grille capital, Providence
If you let Capital Grille know that you are celebrating a special opportunity, they will be beyond to make sure you have excellent experience, including rose petals and confetti on the table for birthdays. I was reluctant to include a chain restaurant on this list, but the quality and the Grille capital service requires being included.

Providence flower, providence
The light and airy setting on the second floor of the Omni hotel in downtown Providence, combined with Renaissance-style murals, creates a romantic atmosphere for a hotel restaurant. Fleur Providence offers brunch, dinner and cocktails, but I say that you can share a flight to Martini for an experience of funny appointments.

Cara at Chanler at Cliff Walk, Newport
The Chanler at Cliff Walk is one of the most elegant hotels in Rhode Island and its gourmet restaurant, Cara, offers a gastronomic discovery trip. Save this one for a very special occasion (or a expense budget!) This Forbes Five Star restaurant offers blind tasting menus of five or eight night evolution dishes featuring contemporary cuisine, which is inspired by both the European influence and the lasting ingredients of New England.

Affordable meeting night restaurants in Rhode Island
Let’s face it, every evening of appointments is not worthy of a special occasion restaurant. If you are just looking for something delicious, with a fun atmosphere that will make an excellent meeting place, here are some of my favorites.
Bount Clam Shack, Warren
Located just on the seafront in Warren, Blount Clam Shack has the best lobster roller that I have ever tasted. I love the relaxed atmosphere and the views of the marina, but the real treat is the fresh lobster soaked in butter or the crispy hot grumpy. With live music on weekends, if you are looking for a summer meeting place, you cannot find a better choice.

Los Andes, Providence
This Peruvian and Bolivian Providence restaurant is no longer an unknown jewel. In fact, you’d better make a reservation in advance if you expect to get a table. The word is that the food is delicious, the service is excellent and the prices are low.

Wok & Pot is a fun place for a first appointment or a double appointment. Where can you cook your own food? Believe me, it’s fun! Choose from a large selection of delicious Korean aperitifs, bowls or hot pot options. In addition, there is a photomaton to capture the memory of your date!
