Ocean Drive in Newport

One of my favorite training in Rhode Island, and generally one that I take with all those who come to visit, is along Ocean Drive in Newport. We start in a little time to explore Newport, then we head south Thames St. and make a right on WellingtonDepending on signs for Fort Adams. Wrapping the farms passed with sheep, we go to Fort Adams and continue to Ocean avenue.
We always take time to stop to climb on the rocks or steal a kite Brenton Point state park. It can also be an ideal place to catch sunset. Then, it is about to look at the giant houses nestled right next to Avenue Ocean until we turned left on avenue Bellevue and that we exchange “new” residences for the “chalets” of the golden age. If he is not too crowded, we can try to find a parking lot for a walk along the Ride Before going home.
A large extension of this panoramic reader would be to continue Easton beach And Second beach down Sachuest National Point Wildlife Refuge For a walk to end the day.
Wickford in Galileo

Another ocean promenade which is perfect in the shoulder seasons before the beach traffic becomes too brutal begins Wickford village. This is a pretty city to enter stores or take tasty sandwiches from Shayna. Then follow the 1A road to Narragansett.
Look at the surfers at Narragansett Town Beachgo in front of the emblematic Coastal Guard Houseor walk along the ocean wall between the city beach Pierre Narragansettt. If you are still hungry and it is in season, get fried clams or a lobster roll at the Monahan clam hut.
Go back to the car for driving in front of Scarborough’s beaches for Judith point. This road trip involves some of the best foods from Rhode Island and I would recommend getting ice creams, clam cakes or doughboys at Aunt Carrie or Iggy. Finish with a journey in front of the salt marshes Galilee To take fresh lobster from George’s before going home.
Tiverton in Little Compton

Another beautiful road in hot weather is through bucolic agricultural land between Tiverton and Little Compton. We will generally take the interstate 195 at Highway 24, then we will move away in Tiverton and follow Route 77 Sud. We like to look at the green fields separated by low stone walls which are so classic in New England. In the distance, you will see the blue of the bay.
After stopping Tiverton four corners or for ice cream at Gray’s, we often stop to enjoy wine Sakonnet vineyards. From there, it is in Wilbour Woods for a peaceful hike or take the time to look at the waves South Shore Beach.
Finish your reader at Sakonnet point Before returning home.
Cumberland Farm to Farm Drive

One of my favorite training to take in autumn is through Cumberland and in Wrentham, my neighbor. We start with the selection of apple to Ghost farms On Diamond Hill Road, which is an excellent stop for agricultural products, coffee or homemade products. Then continue north on Diamond Hill Road Until you have a right on Tank. At the peak of the foliage, the road in front of the tank is magnificent, even if it is fenced so that you cannot stop along the road to take advantage of it.
From there, you are really in the woods Burnt Marsh Road Until you arrive at Adams FarmAnother fun patch patch to explore in season. We then struck the trifecta of the farm with a visit to new York in Wrentham nearby. To end your day, you can always return to Diamond Hill Park For a hike or to take an ice cream on the ice cream machine on the other side of the street.
Fall foliage drive

If you want to enter the backs and small cities of Rhode Island, this reader will show you the picturesque rural side of Rhode Island. It is a particularly pretty reader in the fall when the fall colors are the most vibrant. Start in Johnston in Snake Den State Park and continue on Route 6 to Scituate. You can lower Route 116 or stop in the city center for a walk across the city.
You will follow then Route 14 along SCITATE tank Until you are a left on Route 102 South. Make a small detour to check the Covered bridge from the Marais Prairie. Continue on route 102 to the west of Greenwich and finish with a hike in the Big River management area, or buckle on Route 12 towards Cranston for a visit to a patch of pumpkin.
