Photography day: why you should visit Indonesia in 15 photos

I have a confession to do: Cambodia I warmed my heart with its incredibly nice and calm people, but after seeing Indonesia, I am totally, completely in love with this wild and green country!

Since I started my trip in February, I saw quite incredible places, but nothing compared to the beauty of Indonesia.

Here are some of the most significant images of the month I spent there with a brief comment.

1 | Rice terraces:

Rice terraces – Ubud – Bali

I took this photo by visiting one of the many Indonesian temples hidden in the Ubud jungle. It was a very hot and humid day. After climbing something like 200 steps in 40 degrees to return to our minibus, it was there: a peaceful, green and magnificent rice terrace.

Indonesia is famous for terrass rice fields and despite the heat and sweat, I stayed in admiration: the intensity of the colors was magnificent.

2 | The Singe Forest:

Forest of monkey- Ubud- Bali

When I think of UbudI immediately connect it to the offense Monkey forest: A very controversial place. You like it or despise it.

The reaction of love or hatred obviously depends on your level of tolerance towards the monkeys. Cute, angry / hungry monkeys sometimes try to “attack” the tourist to steal their food. How to blame them? Survivor instinct!

I found the Singe forest one of the most fascinating places in Bali. It’s true, the monkey can be quite frightening. Whenever I saw a coming to me, I admit it, my instinct had to run away as quickly as possible.

Nevertheless, seeing them free, in such a wild environment, is an experience that deserves to be tried.

The monkey forest is an enchanted place. Even being a tourist park, it has retained its wilderness. Majestic tropical trees, small rivers and torrents and dense green vegetation, surrounding the many Balinese sculptures, is breathtaking.

This photo was taken at the end of the tourist path. From now on, the monkeys live in a total total nature (you can see a climb the hill on the right!)

3 | The Enchanted Forest – Gili Trawangan

Enchanted forest - Gili Islands

Enchanted forest – Gili Islands

This photo reminds me of one of my most expensive moments in Indonesia. I went to see the sunset over the sea, and I took this incredibly wild path to reach the beach.

No one was there and early enough, he became darker and darker. I started to feel a little uncomfortable being there alone, but the beauty of the jungle swept me away.

It was magical: The mist and the light filtering the top of the top of the trees, the tranquility broken only by the sounds of the animals living in the forest, transported me to a dimension where I was just expecting genius in the lamp, or perhaps Harry Potter, to appear in front of me. I will never forget this path.

4 | The romantic table on the beach islands

Romantic dinner in Gilis

I took this photo on the way back when I saw the most incredible sunset in my life.

On the main road of Gili Trawangan, that was there: the most romantic dinner table I have ever seen on a beach. The kind of adjustment you only see in the movies.

That night, the landscape was perfect: the moon had just risen from the sea, throwing its cold light on the sea, like a smooth silver coating. The only audible sounds were the small waves crashed on the shore. I don’t know you, but that’s what I call perfection!

Beautiful Indonesian sunset

Beautiful Indonesian sunset

This image is one of my greatest disappointments.

I know it seems crazy, but you should have been there and look at this sunset with your eyes to fully understand what I’m talking about. For the first time in my life, I was speechless.

It’s not just an average sunset. So many elements have done it The best sunset I have ever seen in my life (So far): I came back from the way to go through the “enchanted forest” and, when I got out of the dark, a painting appeared just before my eyes.

The beach was deserted and very quiet. I could only hear the remote sound of the waves crash into the coral reef, where a few people were walking. I could see their nuances against the huge dark volcano standing in front of me.

The colors were so hot and vibrant, And water between the coral reef and the beach completely and perfectly reflected the shape of the volcano at the front. I sat on the beach and I stood there quietly, thinking about the best painting of my life.

Moon Rise in Gilis

If sunset was my biggest disappointment, this photo is certainly one of my greatest achievements.

It was a very exciting moment. I thought Indonesia I already showed his best for this day. How wrong! I turned my head to the right and what did I see? A huge red moon raising the sea.

I must admit that my first reaction from this point of view was not very elegant. I couldn’t believe what my eyes witnessed . I did not bring my digital SLR with me and the moon quickly went up on the horizon.

I decided to give it a shot and I run as quickly as possible in my room and get it. When I was back, the moon was still quite low on the horizon, warming the water with sparkling golden reflections.

This photo is the combination of two distinct images, because it is physically impossible to obtain both the background and the moon on the same image in the same image. My boyfriend told me that I was cheating, but in fact I was not. I just recreated what I saw with my eyes. And, as you can see, it was extraordinary!

7 | Indonesian beach – Gili Islands

Gili Islands

Gili Islands

This photo was taken in Gili Trawangan and very well represents the spirit of the Indonesian beaches.

The bluish colors of the water, mixed with the turquoise sky, The shape of volcanoes in the backgroundThe dark clouds surrounding the mountains and boats, are the typical landscape of almost all Indonesian beaches.

Looking at the image, I can instantly feel the A special atmosphere of this place, where wild and strong elements are the decisive part of the beauty of Indonesia.

8 | Ubud- Bali cascade

Ubud waterfall

The Ubud area is filled with spectacular waterfalls, this particular plan was taken on the way to reach the waterfall shown on the bottom. It was breathtaking.

Again, the heat was almost unbearable but fatigue and sweat were well worth this blow! My only regret is that I could not shower under freshwater.

To be able to do it, I should cross a fairly large and agitated river and I could not risk so much. I just sat on the safe side, listening to the powerful sound of the water falling on the mountain. All I could see was green trees and vegetation everywhere. Extraordinary.

9 | Balinese sculpture:

Dragon in Monkey Forest

This photo was taken at Monkey forest in Ubud.

In Indonesia, these typical sculptures are almost everywhere and I particularly liked it, because it is surrounded by majestic wild trees in a combination of art, religion and nature beautifully mixed together.

Basically, what Indonesia is

6

This photo reminds me of a beautiful meeting with this kind Indonesian lady. I was completely lost by looking for the “enchanted forest” and this smiling woman was the only person I met during my walk.

She lived in an isolated cabin nearby and, using my Italian gesturesWe managed to have a conversation and she pointed me in the right direction.

The Indonesians are so kind and helpful! Always greeting you with a smile and a very nice attitude. To like.

11 | Full moon on the mountains

I like this shot, like that Mix several fascinating elements: The full moon, high on the blue sky, the mountains painted in different shades of blue / gray colors, unlike the golden beach and the dark blue sea. It gives me a feeling of peace and tranquility.

12 | Children playing on the beach

Indonesian children in Gili Trawangan

I love this image. I took it at Gili TrawanganAnd it shows the beauty of Indonesia very well.

A storm arrives, the sea is agitated and the wind is almost unbearable. However, these two children, brother and sister shoot a rope with play and have time for their lives. It represents the simplicity and the joy of whole life.

13 | Kuta Beach- Bali

Kuta Beach – Bali

Kuta is one of the most touristy places to Bali. Many people have warned me of Kuta. I heard “horror stories” on coarse foreigners, surfers and a crazy crowd. True or not … I didn’t stay there long enough to see it by myself.

Maybe it was my luck day, because I went to sunset and I found it fascinating.

The beach is huge, long and there is a large dark volcanic sand chain, constantly reached by the waves, leaving a damp layer on top. The reflections here are so clear that it seems that people walk on a mirror.

14 | Family watching the sunset

A family sat on the wet beach to admire the sunset. A happy family moment of a happy family moment. In addition, the sunset was really peaceful and colorful. A joy for the eyes and the heart!
