If you are looking for a vacation getaway with the children, Snowland at the Great Wolf Lodge has a hard time. I was invited to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge New England to participate in its “Snowland” festivities. Since the minute we have entered the door and have been greeted by roaring fire and the hall sparkled with lights from the many decorated trees and snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, we were vacation atmosphere.
Snowland takes place from the end of November to early January of each year and is more than vacation theory throughout the station. There are many ways to surprise and delight children who will make you feel festive in no time!
Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge Offers options such as eating in a life -size gingerbread house, deliveries of milk and wiley cookies, festive snowland activities and specially decorated snowland suites.
As if magic, Howlin ‘Timbers plays in the park, and its massive water park was not enough to keep the children happy! As we celebrate Hannah’s 11th anniversary at the Great Wolf Lodge, this time, we had a completely different “howl” experience.
Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge
Note: Our visit was organized by the Great Wolf Lodge for the purposes of this review.

Snowland Suites
In each complex, a limited number of suites Queen Deluxe has been reserved as “Snowland Suites”. These consequences obtained a day of vacation. When we opened our door, it was a “wow” moment to see the white tree shine with its lights and blue decorations in the area.
While we entered inside, more details have been revealed, including snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, snowflake covers on the bed and photos covered with holiday packaging paper. In the bathroom, we found more snowflakes, greenery and lights along the mirror, and even a special snowflake shower curtain. One of our favorite characteristics was the greenery and the lights wrapped along the headboard, which allows a perfect night light.
On the bed we were waiting for was a super comfortable blanket to throw snow and an image book entitled “Unique as a snowflake. “At the beginning, we thought they were just for us to take advantage of the suite, but when we saw that we could bring them home, a fight emerged for the rights on the cozy coverage.
My only disappointment was that the Snowland Suites were only available in Queen Deluxe rooms. We had so much fun in our junior cabin suite the last time, where children liked to have their own separate space, that Queen Deluxe felt a little tight with us four plus the tree. We could still have removed the sofa bed if we needed it, but it would have taken maneuvers.
Special Wiley The Wolf delivery
Another surprise came later with a blow to the door and to what our eyes wondered, but Wiley the wolf (without reindeer.) But, he brought us milk and cookies for a snack and was sweet enough to pose for some photos of the tree.
(Pro advice: Call in advance to plan a delivery time or ask children to wait by the fireplace when registering when you organize your delivery time so as not to spoil the surprise.)
Holiday and winter theater activities
Even if you do not book a special snowland suite, there are still a lot of holiday topics to be tasted throughout the station. In the hall, there were decorated trees, snowflakes hanging from the ceiling and a life -size gingerbread house. At times of the day, they also distributed free hot chocolate to the “truck” of hot chocolate.

Young children appreciate many special activities such as the polar wolf promenade, a snowflake craft, a cookie decoration (we appreciated free samples) and a peep treasure hunt in the lodge to find peeps of Santa Claus hidden. Children can also participate in the North Pole University by performing tasks on the NPU course card to receive a snowplowma and a special Rowdy edition the reindeer card.
There were also appearances of characters from Wiley and Violet, The Great Forest Friends Show, Balloons Animal, Yoga Tails, Story Time, Crafts and Photos With Santa. Every night, we saw tons of children in the hall in their pajamas for the time of the tale or the Forest Friends show. And at the end, a special surprise – snow! It looked more like gusts of snow than a blizzard, but it was fun to see the faces of children while the “flakes” began to fall from the ceiling.
Dinner in the gingerbread house
In the middle of the hall is a life -size gingerbread house. You can make books online for dinner inside for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You really want to do it long before your visit!
The menu is the same as the Grill Fired Wood Lodge, but you pay an additional donation of $ 10 in addition to your order, which benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The house adapts to six people and is comfortable inside, with its own small tree and an atmosphere at home. In other words, if your house is covered with candies!

Food at Great Wolf Lodge was definitely better than what we expected. Not exactly Michelin Star, but a step above a chain restaurant for the most part.
Buffets are available in the Wood Fired Grill lodge for breakfast and dinner and have offered a better offer than ordering the menu. The girls loved the Wolf Paw pancakes (and the whipped cream and the fruit fillings) for breakfast. I thought that the chicken chicken salad was delicious for lunch and buffet dinner was very satisfactory.
Pro advice: The Great Wolf Lodge rooms have a refrigerator and a microwave and many families bring a cooler of food and drinks to have at least one meal or two in the room (or heat the remains.)
Keep in mind that you cannot bring food outside in the water park, so you will have to go to your room for a “picnic”. The hotel gives you two bottles of water a day, but I would recommend bringing some of yours because the water bottles are expensive. (See more Great Wolf Lodge Advice))
Great Wolf Lodge Water Park and Howlin ‘Timbers
Of course, the main attraction of the Great Wolf Lodge is the interior water park. They can really welcome all ages, but I asked the girls how old they thought they were best and they said five to fifteen. To go to the biggest slides, you need to measure at least 48 inches, but there are a lot of playground for small children and life jackets for the Wolf Tail Wave pool.
Hannah and her friend love the Tornado Howlin (especially at night.) But even if they are twelve, they can’t wait to go back. Of course, you cannot spend your time in the water park, but there is no problem to get bored. Even with a two -night stay, we still didn’t have enough time to install everything.
The Howlin ‘Timbers Play Park has changed since our last visit. They added the rustic climbing walls of the ridge, the mining company of Oliver (where you “mine” for gems) and a frog walk. You can now buy a Paw Pass, to cover some of these attractions. I was disappointed to learn that the course of the highlights of the Hurleurs was no longer free.
A visit to the Great Wolf Lodge can certainly add up, but a visit to Snowland at the Great Wolf Lodge can be a fun vacation gift.
Kim de Studed Suitcase (my co-host of Podcast), remained at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, Washington last weekend. We interviewed our daughters together to get their reactions – listen to what they had to say below and read his review Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound.
