There is an important thing that I learned during my visits to Scotland and it is … it is necessary to be prepared. If you are just jumping Edinburgh For a few days or spend a week stumbling up Across the country, you must be ready for the sun, rain and a lot of wind (especially on the Skye Island) – Even in summer! Don’t worry, this Scotland packaging list will make you as prepared as a scout for everything that happens to you.
I visited Scotland twice, once from the end of June to early July and the other in early September. The two visits blessed me with a mixture of beautiful blue skies with a warm sun and, without surprise, rain and wind (especially in June / July.) If you visit Scotland in summer, you can expect average temperatures in the mid -1950s to 60 degrees.
Remember that Scotland has a fresh, humid, rainy and windy climate most of the year. It is the ideal place to beat the summer heat waves that have tormented Europe in recent years. Although I admit that I was rather desperate for air conditioning when I was in Edinburgh in early September.
With this Scottish packaging list, I will guide you in what to wear in Scotland in summer and other items to bring to make your trip more pleasant. And, you can even download and print the practical dandy PDF Scotland packaging list To be sure not to forget anything.
While you are preparing for your trip, be sure to consult my message on How much is a trip to Scotland In order to create your vacation budget and make sure you read my other Travel advice in Scotland.

When you start to pack, carefully think about the type of suitcase you will use. We found that many units in Scotland were in old buildings without elevators. If you can wrap the light, but not only will your bags more easily adapt to the bunch of your rental car, but it will be easier than lugging a heavy suitcase upstairs. Even a roller bag the size of a small size with a small tote or a cap would be better than lasiner around a large hard sheapon suitcase.

Outdoor
The name of the game in Scotland is bunk. Believe me when I say that the wind can absolutely be cold enough to have your jacket, hat and gloves. But one day, you can have a light shower or need a thin upper layer like a sweatshirt. To be prepared for everything, diapers. In outdoor clothes, it should be:
- A packed puffy jacket like the Celestial jacket with a hood De Columbia who uses Omni Heat reflection technology to keep you warm while being light (the more cute colors)
- A light rain jacket with a hood large enough to superimpose your puff for rain and wind protection, like the Rain -hikes jacket of Columbia
- AlRight weight fulgon or sweatshirt
- A hot and light knit hat, isolated and repellents
- This Waterproof I bought in Edinburgh also came extremely practical to keep the rain out of my eyes
- A Covered scarfIdeally in a pretty plaid that will stand out in images in the perfect Scottish way

Tops
The right thing about Scotland is that everything is quite relaxed, apart from gastronomic options in cities of course. You can get out of it with a single more beautiful top or a light envelope or a cardigan to review a base layer for any more dressed dinners. For the tops, you will want to bring:
- One or two long sleeves Wool basic layers. The wool is excellent for humidity, heat and being redeveloped without washing (or feeling!) I really like the basic woolen wool layers with long sleeves of Woolx. I have extremely sensitive skin and I am always able to wear them without irritation.
- A Long sleeve t-shirt For relaxed days.
- Two Sleeve layers with short sleeves like the Boundary hiking t-shirt.
- A flannel and / or hiking shirt for overlapping. I love the Lucious Plaid Shirt from Aventura because it is so soft and comfortable.
- A cardigan For superposition or the light summer sweater for dinner.
- A ¾ Shirt or sleeve blouse For warmer days or evenings.

Stockings
In Scotland, you can easily get out with exercise leggings, hiking pants and a pair of jeans. Maybe you want to bring a pair of shorts or a summer dress in case you are lucky in really hot weather. Make sure to pack:
- Rain pants that you can shoot leggings for rainy hikes. Believe me, it is worth walking in a small rain to see some of these views !!
- One to two pairs of hiking pants This can also be used as travel pants or dinner. I love the Hall pants of Prana.
- Leggings lined with fleece Like the comfortable Dogwalker leggings From Aventura (with practical side pockets).
- A pair of jeans to go out in the evening or on non -active days.
- A cotton or wool dress that you can wear on hot days or put a sweater and leggings under the moment it is cooler but you always want to be beautiful (as for afternoon tea.)
- I also brought a pair of linen pants but only because I also spent a few more weeks in France after my trip to Scotland

Shoe
There is no need to bring a bag full of shoes in Scotland. A good pair of waterproof hiking boots or shoes, a pair of sneakers and a pair of sandals will suffice,
- Waterproof hiking boots Or shoes with a good grip for wet and slippery paths. I am a big fan of Merrell Moab 3 Hiking shoes or boots.
- ACOMFORTABLE SNEAKERideally the one that is waterproof as These of Vessi And I would avoid white if you don’t want to put them too saliers.
- Sandals Who are good for walking, but can also be worn with your dress for afternoon tea.
- If your sandals will not work as flip flopsI would also throw a pair of people in your bag in case you decide to dive into fairy pools.
- GOOD woolen socks who are good in humidity, like my favorites to Darn difficult socks.

Below
Do not forget the other necessities!
- Good trip and active underwear that can dry quickly like these Exofe Or NGOSSAMÈRE
- Two sports bras and a standard bra
- Swimsuit in case you want to swim or use the spa or sauna
- Pajamas – Do not too heavy weight in case it ends up being hot because most accommodation has no air conditioning

Extras
Now that we have covered what you need to bring to Scotland, be sure not to forget other necessary items.
- Fast dry travel towel
- Sunglasses
- Traveling umbrella
- Waterproof day pack or Travel sling bag
- Belt bag For short walks
- Rechargeable water bottle
- Insectifuge to protect against the snowy (we were lucky and we did not meet any fly of our trip)
- Sunscreen
- Hand cream / moisturizing to protect the cheeks and hands to wind
- Lip balm
- Toiletries – Keep in mind that many accommodation in the United Kingdom are quite simple in terms of toiletries they provide. Often there is just soap and an all-in-one / revitalizing / bodily wash shampoo. I suggest that you bring your own lotion, revitalizing, disassembly of makeup and even in fabric if you need it.
- Journey Fabreze To update clothes if necessary
- Detergent at travel detergent as Casting mousse To wash everything you need during your travels
- British travel adapter or a universal adapter
- Backup electricity bank
- Additional load cord for the car
- Additional camera batteries and SD cards if you use a regular camera because you are going to take so many photos !! If you use your phone, make sure you have a lot of memory space.
- Tripod of travel. If you are in photography, I would recommend the Peak travel tripodEspecially if you want to mark out a place to wait for the “Hogwarts Express” at the Glenfinnan aqueduct. However, if you are a more relaxed photographer, this Selfie / Tripod stick With Bluetooth Remote works well to capture memories.
- A credit card that does not charge international costs because most places take a credit card.
- At least £ 100 in GBP, preferably in small bills and change for parking meters or stores that do not accept cards.
- UK ESIM for unlocked phones, as Textrcan save you money on your international data plan in Scotland.
- Front lamp – Yes, it remains light in Scotland quite late in summer, but if you stay in a terminal or a campsite, you may want to have a front lamp in case you find yourself walking after nightfall.
